Rescue crews rappelled an extremely steep embankment at Dartmouth Crossing to rescue a dog on Good Friday.

Sabrena Mackenzie and her 12-year-old dog Dumas were out for a walk, but suddenly slipped down the rocky cliff.

Firefighters scaled the cliff for 30 minutes before they got to Dumas. (CBC)

 

Mackenzie slid to safety, but the one-eared dog with an enlarged heart sat shaking for an hour before crews could get to it.

Firefighters scaled the cliff for 30 minutes before they got to Dumas. They used a rope and harness to bring him to safety.

Mackenzie said she is grateful Dumas is ok.
