A section of Nova Scotia's Highway 101 is closed for repairs after an intense fire Wednesday morning.

A car-carrier truck caught fire near the Bear River Bridge, east of Digby, just after 7 a.m.

Five of eight vehicles burned. The roadway is damaged in the westbound lane. No one was injured.

RCMP said the passing lane for traffic heading east will be used for vehicles heading west until the site is cleaned up.
