Dartmouth robberies lead to arrest
41-year-old man in custody after incidents at Ultramar and Needs Convenience
Halifax Regional Police say a 41-year-old man is in custody after two Dartmouth stores were robbed overnight Friday.
The first incident was at the Ultramar gas station on Pleasant Street. Around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, police said a man with a knife demanded money and took off. No one was hurt.
A few hours later, at 2: 50 a.m., police said a man with a sharp rock demanded cash from the employee at the Needs Convenience on Prince Albert Road.
Police scoured the area, and found the suspect near Braemar Drive. They believe he’s responsible for both robberies.
Charges are expected to be laid Friday.
