Halifax Regional Police were involved in an incident Monday morning in Dartmouth resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to a motorcyclist.

Nova Scotia's Serious Incident Response Team is investigating a crash Monday morning involving Halifax Regional Police and a motorcycle in Dartmouth.

At 10:55 a.m., officers attempted to stop a motorcycle on Hartlen Street in Dartmouth. Police say the driver didn't stop and continued to Tacoma Drive, where he struck a pole.

The male driver was taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Halifax Regional Police Const. Pierre Bourdages said since the accident resulted in injuries following police involvement, they contacted the Serious Incident Response Team.

SIRT investigates all serious incidents involving the police in the province, regardless of whether there is an allegation of wrongdoing.
