Dartmouth Crossing robbery suspect sought
Man demanded cash at JYSK Bed Bath Home store
Halifax Regional Police are looking for a man who they say robbed a home decor store in Dartmouth Crossing on Wednesday night and drove off in a stolen vehicle.
At 7:20 p.m., officers were called to the JYSK Bed Bath Home store after an employee reported a man had come into the store and demanded cash.
The man reached into the cash register, took money and left the store.
No one was injured. Halifax Regional Police said the man did not threaten staff and no weapon was seen.
The man left the store, got into a red Ford fusion sedan and headed toward Wright Avenue.
Halifax Regional Police said they had a licence plate number but when they ran it, the car was identified as one that had been stolen.
The suspect is described as a black man with a thin goatee, between 35 and 40 years old, six feet tall and weighing 180 to 210 pounds. He was wearing a dark green and blue baggy coat with a hood at the time of the incident.
