Dartmouth break-in leads to charges for 2 teens
Canine unit tracks suspects after Slayter Street break-in
Two teenagers are facing charges after a break-in at a house on Slayter Street in Dartmouth on Tuesday night.
Halifax Regional Police said at 7:30 p.m., a homeowner confronted a young man in his house and the suspect ran away. The resident also spotted at least one other teenager in the driveway.
The canine unit tracked both teenagers about 20 minutes later and they were arrested.
They are facing charges of break and enter, theft and one of the teens is facing an additional charge of possession of a prohibited weapon. They were both released to appear in court at a later date.
The incident happened in the zero to 80 block of Slayter Street, near the Brightwood Golf and Country Club.
