Fire crews from around the Truro area have been called out to a fire at Dalhousie University's agricultural campus in Bible Hill.
Nova Scotia RCMP said the fire was in the Ruminant Animal Centre, with smoke billowing from the 10 silos attached to the building.
Cpl. Angela Corscadden said multiple fire departments were on scene and are still putting out hot spots. She said the roof of the building was compromised in several places.
The fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. Monday according to a tweet from Dalhousie University.
Dalhousie University said all staff and animals were safely evacuated from the Ruminant Animal Centre.
RCMP say there are no injuries and the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
The school was called the Nova Scotia Agricultural College until 2012 when Dalhousie University took it over and called it the Faculty of Agriculture.
