A 29-year-old man in Cole Harbour was robbed while walking on Ross Road when three men jumped out of a car, assaulted him and took his wallet and backpack, police say.

Officers from the Halifax Regional Police and the RCMP are investigating the incident, which happened on Friday night around 11 p.m.

Police said at this point the attack appears random.

After the robbery, all three men got back in a dark four-door sedan and drove away, said police.

The victim had minor injuries but didn't need medical attention.

His backpack contained personal items, a small amount of cash, and a gaming system.

All three of the men involved in the robbery are described as six feel tall. Police say two were black and one was white.

Police are asking anyone with information about this robbery to contact them.
