CBC's Information Morning is broadcasting live from the Ummah Mosque on Friday, Feb. 19 and will explore a range of topics affecting the Muslim community in Nova Scotia.

If you're in west end Halifax Friday morning, stop by the mosque at 2510 St. Matthias Street

CBC's Information Morning is broadcasting live from the Ummah Mosque on Friday, Feb. 19.

The program will focus on the Muslim community, which consists of more than 25,000 people in Halifax. It's one of the fastest growing populations in Nova Scotia, especially with the recent influx of Syrian refugees.

Information Morning will explore a range of topics including the meaning of Friday prayer, Islamic traditions, popular food, diffusing tension between local mosques and the humanitarian work done by members of the community.

The program begins at 5:55 a.m. on CBC Radio One. If you're in the neighbourhood, the mosque will be open the public during the event. It's located at 2510 St. Matthias Street off Chebucto Road in Halifax's west end.
