Cape Breton shooting suspect nabbed

Cape Breton Regional Police have apprehended a man who locked himself inside his home on Point Aconi Road after a shooting incident earlier this morning.

Man wanted for shooting a 24-year-old man at the home next door

Cape Breton Regional Police have apprehended a man who locked himself inside his home on Point Aconi Road after a shooting incident earlier this morning. 

Police arrested the 46-year-old man after his surrender around 11:25 a.m. Charges are pending.

They say the man is wanted for shooting a 24-year-old man at the home next door earlier Thursday morning. The victim is in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital but is expected to survive the leg injury he sustained in the shooting. 

Police were called about the incident around 3 a.m.

Police say this is not a random incident, as the two men know each other.
