Bridgewater RCMP officer investigated for domestic assault
An RCMP officer with the Bridgewater detachment is being investigated for domestic assault by the province’s Serious Incident Response Team.
The team was brought in after RCMP got a call from a woman Tuesday evening who alleged she was assaulted by her husband, a police officer.
The RCMP officer was arrested and has been released on conditions.
SIRT director Ron MacDonald said investigators are still determining whether the officer will be charged. If charged, he is scheduled to appear in court on May 7.
