The first magazine aimed at Chinese-speaking people in the Maritimes is launching in Halifax today.
All the articles in Dakai Maritimes are printed in both Chinese and English.
Publisher Meng Zhao said she hopes to expand the magazine to include all Chinese languages.
She said there are about 8,000 Chinese-speaking residents in Nova Scotia.
"We’re talking all ages. We’re talking students, immigrants [and] residents," she said.
"There is an increasing need for just a magazine for a communications medium, for everybody in the community. To feel connected. For the Chinese and non-Chinese communities to be connected as well."
Zhao said the magazine includes local content about living and working in the Maritimes.
The magazine launches at the Keshen Goodman Public Library on Wednesday.
