A 17-year-old man has been arrested in the stabbing of a 38-year-old man on Barrington Street on Tuesday. (CBC)

Halifax Regional Police have arrested a 17-year-old man following a stabbing Tuesday evening on Barrington Street.
Officers were called to the 2100 block of Barrington Street at around 6:50 p.m. after a report of a stabbing. The suspect ran away.

The 38-year-old male victim was rushed to hospital. He's expected to recover from his injuries.

A 17-year-old man was arrested and is expected to appear in Halifax provincial court on Wednesday afternoon to face one count of attempted murder and two counts of breaching probation.

The victim and suspect know each other, police said, and the stabbing happened during a fight.
