A man faces a list of charges including attempted murder after a stabbing in Dartmouth Friday afternoon, say Halifax police.

Officers believe the victim, a man in his 30s, was stabbed during a fight between two groups of people on the 200 block of Wyse Road around 4:30 p.m.

A witness says the victim was covered in blood.  Jennifer Markey says she dropped the man off at the Dartmouth General Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect was arrested overnight without any problems and is in custody until his court appearance on Tuesday.

They say he will be charged with attempted murder, possession of a dangerous weapon, assault with a weapon, breach of recognizance and breach of probation.
