A 46-year-old woman is facing an attempted murder charge after another woman was stabbed and taken to hospital after an incident on a Gottingen Street sidewalk Friday morning.

The victim was stabbed several times in the arm, but police said her injuries are not life-threatening.

In addition to the attempted murder charge, the 46-year old woman is facing charges of assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.

Halifax Regional Police Const. Pierre Bourdages said the violence broke out near Big Al's Pizza at 2320 Gottingen St., just after 8 a.m.
