A 22-year-old Nova Scotia man faces a host of charges after he allegedly stabbed another man during a brawl outside a Bedford strip mall late Wednesday night.

Halifax Regional Police said officers were called at 11:55 p.m. to 1658 Bedford Highway. They found a man with several stab wounds outside the Bedford Place Mall.

The 29-year-old victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre and is now listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.

The suspect fled the scene, but was later arrested at a residence.

He faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and three counts of breaching a court order.

He'll appear in provincial court on Friday.

Police said the incident was not random.
