Arson suspected in Halifax apartment fire
Child among tenants chased out
Halifax police say a fire that forced tenants out of an apartment building in Fairview last night was deliberately set.
The fire at 16 Dawn St. was reported shortly after 11 p.m.
No one was hurt. But the Canadian Red Cross said tenants in four units — including a child — were displaced.
The Red Cross said the unit where the fire started is extensively damaged.
Halifax Regional Police continue to investigate what they said appears to be a case of arson.
Most of the tenants are staying in vacant units. The Red Cross helped the family with the child find a place for the night.
