Halifax Regional Police have issued an arrest warrant for a woman suspected of stealing $7,500 worth of sunglasses from a Halifax mall this summer.

Laura Ann Zwicker, 49, of Halifax has been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen goods under $5,000.

On June 11, police received a report after a woman went into the Sunglass Hut at the Halifax Shopping Centre and took a number of pairs of sunglasses and left the store without paying for them.

Police said the same woman went back to the store on June 12 and stole more sunglasses. The stolen sunglasses are worth about $7,500.

On July 26, police released pictures of the suspect, calling on the public to help identity her. So far, police have not been able to find her.

Anyone with information on Zwicker's whereabouts are asked to call either police or Crime Stoppers.

This is not the only theft of sunglasses reported this year. Optometry clinics in White Rock, B.C. have been forced to install extra security measures after repeatedly being targeted by thieves.

In Windsor, Ont., thieves broke in to a store and stole $7,000 worth of sunglasses earlier this year.
