Drunk driving arrest after downtown Halifax crash

Halifax police say they arrested a 20-year-old woman for impaired driving after a multi-vehicle crash on Barrington Street on Friday night.

Halifax Regional Police say they arrested a 20-year-old woman for drunk driving after a multi-vehicle crash downtown Friday night.

Around 9:00 p.m., police said they were called to the 2600 block of Barrington Street. Officers arrived to discover three vehicles and a power pole were involved in the crash.

Police said investigators determined a Hyundai was heading south on Barrington Street when it hit the pole and swerved into oncoming traffic, hitting two other vehicles.

A Halifax woman was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Police said she was released with an order to appear in court at a later date.

Police said no one was injured.
