A 20-year-old man is in hospital after being injured in an armed robbery in Lawrencetown early Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to a home on Osprey Way in Lawrencetown at about 1 p.m., said Halifax RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Linda Gray.

The victim suffered serious injuries but they aren't life-threatening, said police.

A short while later, two 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old male were arrested at two separate residences on Poplar Drive in Cole Harbour.

The three were still in custody late Thursday afternoon and will appear in Dartmouth provincial court Friday to face a number of charges.

The armed robbery was not a random event and the victim and suspects were known to each other, police said.

Corrections

  • An earlier version of this story incorrectly said the victim in the armed robbery had been shot. In fact, he was injured but not as a result of a shooting.
