Ambassatours Gray Line announced Wednesday that it’s merging with Murphy’s The Cable Wharf, becoming the self-proclaimed largest sightseeing tour company in Canada.

"This merger is a huge accomplishment and a very welcome addition to the Gray Line product offering over 3,500 tours and experiences in 200 cities around the world," said Brad Weber, CEO of Gray Line Worldwide in a release.

Murphy’s fleet includes Theodore Tugboat, the Harbour Hopper, the 22-metre-tall vessel the Mar, tall ship Silva, and the Harbour Queen.

Ambassatours runs Peggys Cove sightseeing tours, the pink double-decker tours in Halifax, cruise ship shore trips, and charter bus services in Canada and the U.S.

Ambassatours says Murphy’s will continue to operate under its brand.

According to the release, Ambassatours now employs more than 400 people.
