Alderney ferry back up and running
Halifax's bus service says the ferry will be out until further notice
The Alderney ferry is back in service after it broke down on Monday morning, forcing Metro Transit to offer morning commuters a shuttle bus to get to work.
A spokeswoman said a fuel pump failed and had to be repaired. Complicating matters is the fact that the Woodside ferry is undergoing routine maintenance. That annual work diverts the second ferry normally at Alderney to Woodside.
Jeff Donaldson says he only found out the ferry was down on his way to the terminal.
He says he'll be at least a half an hour late.
"I'm annoyed because this has happened more than once," he said.
"I'm a little upset, but I'll get over it."
