A jogger died after being hit by a vehicle in the Windsor Junction area of Halifax Wednesday morning. The 75-year-old woman was struck by an SUV on Peter Thomas Drive at about 8:20 a.m.
RCMP Cpl. Scott MacRae said investigators are trying to determine if sunlight played a role.
"It's the crest of a hill," he said. "The sun was very strong this morning. That is all going to be looked at as contributing factors."
The small SUV was travelling southeast when the crash occurred.
"The 17-year-old driver is visibly upset, but wasn't injured."
Police expect to question the driver later today.
The road is closed while police investigate.
