Man in his 30s stabbed after altercation between two groups on Wyse Road
Four people have been taken into custody following a stabbing in Dartmouth Friday afternoon.
A man was stabbed during an altercation between two groups of people on Wyse Road, according to Halifax Regional Police.
A witness says she saw the two groups start to fight.
"I saw one guy pull out a knife and the victim got stabbed a couple of times," said Jennifer Markey.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m. police received numerous 911 calls advising that a person was stabbed in the 200 block of Wyse Road.
Police say the altercation left a male in his thirties with a stab wound.
Markey said the victim was covered in blood.
"We followed him around and we caught up with him just across the street here and told him he needed to go to the hospital and get help immediately or he was going to bleed out," she said.
The victim was transported to the Dartmouth General Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police say this is not believed to be a random act.
The incident is under investigation by Halifax Police and the RCMP.
