Police have arrested a third suspect related to an assault earlier this month on a Halifax Transit bus driver.

Tyere Brushett, 19, of Dartmouth, appeared in Dartmouth provincial court earlier on Wednesday and is charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of a probation order.

Police say the 44-year-old bus driver tried to break up a fight between two young women on July 8, but was then attacked by three men at the bridge terminal in Dartmouth. The suspects then fled the area.

Two of the suspects were previously arrested and charged.

An 18-year-old Sackville man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of recognizance, while a 20-year-old Halifax man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court in August to face a charge of assault causing bodily harm.
