Three teenagers abducted a man in Lower Sackville, N.S., and forced him to rob a house and then a store, police said Wednesday.

Sgt. Anthony Pompeo said the incident happened Monday afternoon. The 19-year-old complainant was forced into a vehicle on Metropolitan Drive. The three alleged abductors told the man to break into a house in Lower Sackville.

“The three men were threatening violence if the suspect did not comply. The break and enter was interrupted by a witness,” Pompeo said.

Police responded to the burglary, but the men had left. They drove the complainant to Windsor and told him to rob a store at about 6 p.m.

“Once the victim entered the store, he told the clerk to call police, indicating that he had been coerced into committing a crime,” he said.

RCMP got involved and arrested three Lower Sackville men.

Brandon Charles Murphy, 18, Nicholas Tyler White, 19 and Brandon Lee Burneau, 19, remain in custody and are facing a multitude of charges including:

  • kidnapping
  • robbery
  • possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • break and enter

The 19-year-old complainant was not charged. Police say he knew the men accused of abducting him.
