2 sent to hospital after crash in Glace Bay
One of the injured was standing at the back of utility truck, when car rear-ended it
One of the main streets in Glace Bay, Cape Breton was blocked off following a two vehicle crash Saturday morning.
It happened just after 10 a.m. at South Street and Brookside Street.
A car rammed into the back of utility truck.
Jim Taylor, Glace Bay fire chief, said one of the injured was standing at the back of that utility truck.
"Apparently it looks like the vehicle coming up the road hit the back of the truck. The gentleman was between the car and the truck," he said.
Sgt. Barry Gordon said the crash was serious.
"Two people are reported injured at the scene and we're currently waiting for our forensic[team] and it's still rolling, the investigation on what took place here," said Gordon.
"At present time the scene will be shut down until the specialized units have done all their investigation and we've also notified the department of labour too."
Gordon said the injured were taken to hospital. The extent of their injuries isn't yet known.
