Police in Halifax are on the lookout for separate suspects who stole two women's purses in the Halifax area early Saturday morning.

Police in Halifax are on the lookout for separate suspects who stole two women's purses in the Halifax area early Saturday morning.

Officers first responded to a call in Dartmouth around 12:14 a.m. A woman said she stepped out of a club to have a cigarette when a man pushed her to the ground and grabbed her purse.

Police used a dog to help them search the area but didn't find the suspect or the purse.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants.

Then around 12:39 a.m. police were called to the intersection of Church and South Street in Halifax where another woman said a man walked by and grabbed her purse.

Police said he fled the area, and even with a police dog they couldn't find him or the purse.

Police described the suspect as a man in his 30s wearing a black jacket and toque.
