Police in Halifax are on the lookout for separate suspects who stole two women's purses in the Halifax area early Saturday morning.

Officers first responded to a call in Dartmouth around 12:14 a.m. A woman said she stepped out of a club to have a cigarette when a man pushed her to the ground and grabbed her purse.

Police used a dog to help them search the area but didn't find the suspect or the purse.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants.

Then around 12:39 a.m. police were called to the intersection of Church and South Street in Halifax where another woman said a man walked by and grabbed her purse.

Police said he fled the area, and even with a police dog they couldn't find him or the purse.

Police described the suspect as a man in his 30s wearing a black jacket and toque.
