Two men were rescued from a life raft after their fishing boat sank off of Sable Island Sunday night, reports the the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Halifax.

A cormorant helicopter brought the two Sydney men, one 47-years-old the other 28,  to safety just after 8:40 p.m. AT.

The centre said their 18-metre boat sank before they made it into their life raft about 67 kilometres south of Sable Island.
