2 men hurt in Sydney ATV crash

Two men were seriously hurt in an ATV accident in Sydney Saturday night.

Two men were seriously hurt in an ATV accident in Sydney, N.S., Saturday night.

The crash happened at the corner of Victoria Road and East Broad Way at 8:15 p.m. Two men, aged 26 and 24, were on the vehicle. 

"The vehicle struck the curb on the road and a guide wire that had been attached to a utility pole," said Staff Sgt. Paul Muise. 

"Both males received serious injuries as a result of the accident."

The men were treated in a Sydney hospital; one of the men was transported to Halifax for further treatment. 

Police said such vehicles aren't licensed for the road, but drivers occasionally use main roads to get between trails.
