Two men were sent to hospital after crashing their car into a power pole on Portland Street in Dartmouth early Saturday morning, say Halifax police.

Officers said their car veered into a power poll severing it, hit the corner of a house and crashed into two parked cars shortly after 3 a.m.

More than 1,000 Nova Scotia Power customers lost electricity.

Police said the men were released on Saturday afternoon with minor injuries.
