Young man drowns while swimming near Cape Dorset, Nunavut
The RCMP in Cape Dorset, Nunavut, say a young man has drowned while swimming.
The police say 20-year-old Trevor Gilmore Nakoolak of Coral Harbour, Nunavut, was pronounced dead at the scene.
They say witnesses report Nakoolak was swimming in a small lake just outside of Cape Dorset during the evening of Aug. 4 when he went under.
RCMP were called to the scene and used a kayak to recover the young man's body about 16 metres from shore.
The say the death is ruled not suspicious.
