Yellowknife woman charged after truck hits 90-year-old
Woman was partly trapped under vehicle in downtown Yellowknife
A Yellowknife woman faces a number of charges in connection to an incident where a 90-year-old woman was struck by a pickup truck.
It happened at the intersection of 52nd Street and Franklin Avenue at about 10 a.m. Thursday.
"The female was partially trapped underneath the vehicle," said RCMP Cpl. Barry Ledoux, adding firefighters had to free her.
The woman is in serious but stable condition and has been flown to hospital in Edmonton.
Toni-Lynn Elizabeth Buggins-Goodin, 30, has been charged with driving while prohibited, careless driving, and failure to yield to a pedestrian. Her next court appearance is June 28.
Police are not identifying the victim at this time. Police are asking for the public’s help in determining the movements of a green Dodge Ram 4x4, door-extended cab truck at around 10 a.m.
