Yellowknife Mountie pleads not guilty to assault charge
A Yellowknife RCMP officer has pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault.
Cory Wallace made a brief appearance in Yellowknife courtroom today.
He's accused of assaulting a prisoner while escorting him from the courthouse.
The RCMP have refused to reveal what injury the prisoner suffered or any other information about the case.
Police announced in August that Wallace had been charged after a five-month investigation.
His trial, which is expected to take about two days, is scheduled to begin April 22.
