Winnipeg police seek missing Inuk teen
Rhonda Ekwalak, 17, was last seen on Boxing Day
Police in Winnipeg are asking for the public's help in finding an Inuk teenager who has been missing since Boxing Day.
Rhonda Ekwalak, 17, was last seen on Dec. 26. She is described as Inuk, with brown hair, five feet five inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds.
Ekwalak is believed to have family ties to Nunavut's Kivalliq region.
"She was last seen around 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 26, 2012, in the area of Mayfair Avenue and Main Street in the City of Winnipeg," said Const. Eric Hofley, a Winnipeg police spokesman.
Ekwalak was last seen wearing a black and gold Baby PHAT jacket, a purple hoodie, black pants and black sneakers with a purple Nike logo.
Winnipeg police say they are concerned for the teen's well-being. They are asking anyone with information to call their missing persons unit at (204) 986-6250.
