Arviat hunter went missing two weeks ago

The search for a missing hunter is continuing around Arviat. William Kinniksie went caribou hunting more than two weeks ago and hasn't been seen since.

Thomas Siataalak is the chair of the local search and rescue team. The search was originally called off but it started up again after Kinniksie's ATV was found stuck in the mud on Monday.

"We're searching where they may have found footprints … heading south from Arviat," Siataalak said.

Siataalak says the hamlet came up with funding to continue for another three days, but hope is fading fast.

Local rangers will take over the search after Wednesday's efforts.
