One woman is in hospital following a head-on collision Friday morning on the Alaska Highway in Whitehorse.

One woman is in hospital following a head-on collision Friday morning on the Alaska Highway in Whitehorse.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. north of the Kopper King subdivision. 

RCMP Const. Dean Hoogland says there was extensive damage to both vehicles. 

"One of the drivers had to be extracted from her vehicle," he said. "She was the single occupant of her vehicle."

The male driver of the other vehicle is facing impaired driving charges.
