Whitehorse teen died of hypothermia, says coroner
Tora-Lee Williams was found dead last Halloween at Kopper King trailer park
A 15-year-old girl found dead on a lawn at the Kopper King trailer park last Halloween died as a result of hypothermia.
The Yukon Coroner has released its report into the death of Tora-Lee Williams. Her death was called accidental.
Williams had been drinking with friends on the evening she died. She was picked up downtown in the early morning by a taxi driver who found her lying on the ground in the fetal position.
When he dropped her off at the trailer park that night, she never made it home.
The pathologist, who performed the autopsy, said alcohol intoxication was partially to blame. The coroner warned in her report that substance abuse is always a risk factor in hypothermia.
