Three B.C. men have been charged with drug offences after Whitehorse RCMP seized 60 grams of cocaine from their hotel room.
The men were arrested at a downtown hotel Friday night. Police also seized cash from their room.
They have been charged with trafficking, and are still in custody.
"Anytime you're taking drugs off the street that's a success. We clearly have some problems here in Whitehorse with substance abuse. That just puts a dent in things for people involved in that trade, because it's an ugly trade," said RCMP Const. Christine Grant.
The RCMP used its emergency response team for the arrests. Grant said that team is not always used in drug busts - she said the police sometimes take extra precautions when dealing with suspects from outside the territory.
