Whitehorse RCMP are seeking a suspect following a robbery at Bernie’s Race Trac Gas on Saturday night.

The attendant of the store at Hamilton Boulevard and McIntyre Drive told police he was closing up at around 11 p.m. when a man entered the store wearing a ski mask and brandishing a knife.

The man demanded the clerk put the money from the cash till as well as packages of cigarettes and a number of “scratch” lottery tickets into a bag he had brought with him. The suspect then fled.

The clerk was not physically harmed during the incident.

Police describe the suspect as being stocky in build and between five foot eight and five foot ten. He was wearing black jeans, gloves and a black ski mask.

The weapon used was described as a “Bowie” style, with a blade about 30 centimetres long.
