Whitehorse man struck by SUV dies in hospital

A 69-year-old pedestrian who was hit by an SUV in Whitehorse yesterday morning has died in hospital.

A 69-year-old pedestrian who was hit by an SUV in Whitehorse yesterday morning has died in hospital.

Whitehorse RCMP Const Dean Hoogland says the man died yesterday afternoon or evening at Whitehorse General Hospital. Police aren't releasing the man's name but say his family has been notified.

RCMP say the man was crossing Fourth Avenue between Ray Street and Second Avenue around 11:20 a.m. yesterday morning.

Hoogland says police are interviewing witnesses. They are looking for more people to come forward who may have seen what happened.

RCMP say the driver was sober and is co-operating with the investigation.
