Whitehorse man charged after Hamilton Blvd rollover

A 22-year-old Whitehorse man is facing dangerous driving and drunk-driving charges and a passenger is in hospital after a rollover on Hamilton Boulevard last night.

22-year-old passenger still in hospital after midnight crash

A 22 year old Whitehorse man faces dangerous driving and drunk driving charges after a single vehicle roll-over in Whitehorse overnight.

RCMP Constable, Dean Hoogland, says police received many calls just after midnight, reporting a small car had rolled down an embankment on Hamilton Boulevard, near McIntyre Drive.

Whitehorse RCMP spokesperson Const. Dean Hoogland says the 22-year-old driver is facing charges including impaired driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing bodily harm. (CBC)

"There were other motorists on the roadway at the time this occurred and witnesses are being followed up with the investigators," says Hoogland.

The 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse sustained heavy damage after rolling several times.

Hoogland says the driver was arrested at the scene.  He was then taken to hospital, treated and released.  He then spent the night in RCMP cells waiting a first court appearance.

A 22 year old male passenger in the vehicle is still in hospital being treated for injuries sustained in the crash.
