WestJet will make its inaugural flight into Whitehorse when the first jet arrives from Vancouver Thursday at 9 p.m.
The airline will celebrate its official launch in Whitehorse Friday morning.
WestJet is offering daily round-trip service between Whitehorse and Vancouver until the end of October.
Jennifer Sanford, a media relations advisor with WestJet, said they're happy with the bookings so far.
She added the company will monitor the route, but there are no plans yet to extend the schedule.
"I think it's important we continue to evaluate the routes," she said.
"We’re really thrilled with what we've seen so far. I would say with confidence it's on track, the booking flow that we've seen. But I don't believe we're in a position to make an announcement as to whether this will continue as part of the winter schedule.
Sandford said WestJet expects travel bookings to build over the summer months.
