The trial of a woman accused of killing a man in Repulse Bay, Nunavut, last year will go ahead next April.
Joyce Kringuk, 29, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Joani Kringayark, 47, who was found dead in his home in August 2008.
Kringuk's trial, set to begin April 26, will be held in Iqaluit instead of Repulse Bay, at the request of both Crown and defence lawyers.
Appearing before the Nunavut Court of Justice in Iqaluit on Thursday, defence lawyer Andy Mahar said he expects the case won't have to go to trial. Mahar wouldn't elaborate on whether that means his client plans to enter a guilty plea.
