The next federal election is still a year away, but Canada's political parties are getting prepared and heading out to meet voters.
The leader of the Official Opposition is heading to Nunavut this week.
NDP leader Thomas Mulcair will be accompanied by Romeo Saganash, the NDP Member of Parliament for Abitibi — Baie James — Nunavik — Eeyou.
The theme of the visit is "Let's Talk about issues that matter."
They'll hold a public meeting on Tuesday, September 2 at 6 p.m. at the Francophone centre
On Wednesday, Mulcair will hold private meetings with community leaders and stakeholders on Wednesday.
And on Thursday morning, he’ll take an ATV tour of Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park, then meet with local media.
