Police in Nunavik are investigating a break-in at a bank in Kuujjuaq, Que.
One or more individuals in the community of about 2,200 broke into a bank run by the Nunavik Financial Services Co-operative.
About $2,500 was stolen.
"I do not know what they used to break in but they managed to break the lock of the door so what we're going to do is to install a more secure door in the near future," said Lisa Koperqualuk, a spokesperson with the Federation of Co-operatives in Northern Quebec.
Koperqualuk said the video cameras on site were not working at the time and will be replaced.
The Kativik Regional Police Force is investigating.
