A fire that destroyed a pick-up truck early this morning in a Whitehorse subdivision is being treated as suspicious by the RCMP.

The Whitehorse Fire Department and the RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle on fire on Diamond Way in the Copper Ridge neighbourhood at about 4:30 a.m. Monday.

By the time police arrived, the 2012 F350 pick-up truck was fully engulfed in flames. The truck was destroyed before the fire spread to a second vehicle parked beside it.

Whitehorse fire chief Clive Sparks says he can't be sure but it looks suspicious, as if someone may have set the fire.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Whitehorse RCMP Detachment at 867-667-5551 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
