Yukon's human rights adjudicators have ordered compensation for a high school teen who was sexually harassed by her employer.
The panel said Devon Hanson deserves three months wages and court costs for the way she was treated by her boss Mark Hureau.
In 2010 Mark Hureau was Hanson's long-time basketball coach and part-time employer at his sports store. She complained his emails and texts were inappropriate.
Last summer Human Rights adjudicators ruled Hureau was guilty of a mild form of sexual harassment.
He rejected the verdict and demanded compensation for loss of reputation. She demanded $30,000 compensation.
This week's ruling satisfies neither party. Hureau's claims are dismissed while Hanson was awarded court costs and three months wages.
The Yukon Human Rights Commission is also not fully pleased with the ruling as there is no compensation for injury to Hansen's dignity
All sides are appealing the case to the Yukon Supreme Court. There's no word on when the appeal might be heard.
