Whitehorse man sentenced for cocaine trafficking
23-year-old caught making $10,000 drug deal while on bail

A Whitehorse man was sentenced to more than three years in prison Tuesday for trafficking cocaine.
Christopher Brisson, 23, pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced in territorial court to 45 months in prison.
RCMP drug investigators were tipped about Brisson's drug trafficking about this time last year. A bust turned up dozens of baggies of packaged cocaine, and cell phones that kept ringing with more drug orders.
A search of his Whitehorse home turned up thousands of dollars more in cocaine along with a loaded handgun.
Brisson was released on bail and then in July undercover police caught him making a $10,000 drug sale at a local bowling alley.
Brisson has been in custody for the past six months.
At his sentencing hearing, Brisson's father pleaded for leniency but deputy Judge Donald Luther said trafficking in hard drugs must be denounced.
Brisson will get no extra credit for time served, leaving just over 38 months to be served on his penitentiary term.
