Nunavut inmate found dead after escaping police custody

An inmate in Hall Beach, Nunavut, was found dead after reportedly escaping police custody Monday.
Police said they were alerted to the escape at 1 a.m. After a search, they found the male inmate deceased.
The Ottawa Police Service has been called to carry out an investigation, which is standard practice for the RCMP.
The RCMP have not released any other details, and they said they won’t release any more until the investigation is complete.
